At the end of their life they are really good compost material. Giving back what nature has given - the circle honours and completes!
What is colour free?
Colour free are mats that have had no colour added to them - they are purely the colour of the latex compound that is harvested from the rubber tree. Somehow this seems to be the most natural extension to the eco mat concept: beautiful, simple and real.
How do I take care of eco yoga mats?
Let your eco - Yoga mat breathe as much as possible, especially if you work a sweat on to it. The mats wash well in the washing machine through a cool cycle using a small amount of detergent. They will however retain a lot of water. Remove excess amounts by rolling up with a dry towel - the old traditional woollens method! Dry flat to avoid creasing (though these will eventually smooth out). Do not put through a tumble dryer. Equally you can freshen the mat by wiping it down with a soft damp cloth. Avoid contact with oils. Store out of direct sunlight.

What's the difference with the eco-tex mats that you sell?
These mats although not free from PVC content pass the stringent European Oeko-tex certification for harmfulness to human skin contact.. The standard and sticky mats in our range carry this certification which makes them perfectly safe for practice and extended periods of skin contact. They may not be environmental as such but have been made to the highest specifications
Other suppliers say they sell eco mats, do they?
The eco band wagon is a motley crew and the rule can simply be that if they contain PVC in any quantity then they are definitively not eco mats. The desire for cheaper and cheaper mats also encourages lax adherence to human labour conditions and many of these sorts of mats are made in conditions that are not fairly traded, considerate of ethical work practices or kind to the work force.
